Tattoo Aftercare

Healing time varies by individual, depending on the intricacy of your tattoo. Heavily saturated areas with color or heavy black inks will need more healing time. Larger areas tend to be red, and swollen, for longer as they cause more trauma to the skin. Here is a comprehensive list of what that process entails and what to expect.

If you prefer to heal a tattoo the old-fashioned way, or have allergies to adhesives, this method allows removal of the covering after about two hours. Many clients prefer their newly tattoo to breathe, without the fuss of taking off the bandage later. This is an option for those whom have a sedentary lifestyle, and that do not work in environments with possible contaminants. Dri-lock bandages or vaseline with clear covering are the usual methods.

Aftercare Products

You will need the following for proper aftercare of your tattoo:

- Mild, Fragrance-free soap (Dr. Bronners and Dial are great choices)

- Mild, Fragrance-free moisturizer

- Paper Towel

- High SPF sunscreen (for ongoing care)
